Recipe: – Eat more nuts

Figures from the Norwegian Directorate of Health show that Norwegians get on average just eight grams per day, says a press release titled “I love fruits and vegetables from Europe” in the EU campaign.

The “Norwegian Diet 2020” report from the Norwegian Directorate of Health documents that Norwegian consumption of nuts has changed little in the past 10 years and has stabilized at around eight grams per day. At the same time, consumption of other healthy foods, such as fruits, berries and vegetables, increased sharply.

There are many good reasons to eat nuts. Nuts are nutritious foods that contain most of the vitamins and minerals your body needs. It’s one of the main sources of the omega-3 fatty acid ALA, and it helps protect against Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease.
