Third place is Hueger’s best qualifying result in Formula 2.
The Norwegian was investigated over the so-called “unsafe release”, as he had been carelessly driving off the starting lane before his last attempt. Hauger’s father, Tom Erik Hauger, says it ended up unpunished for his son. Time penalty and a fine were among the consequences.
That means Hauger starts eighth during Saturday’s sprint and third in the main race the next day.
Hueger finished 10th during practice earlier on Friday.
Jury Phipps was the best during training, and the same guy was also the best in the playoffs. It was 0.2 seconds faster than the Hueger.
