Hauger’s rival sent off by Red Bull Racing for racist statement

This was stated by Red Bull Racing Twitter Tuesday.

Vips were suspended last week for speaking racially during a live broadcast while playing video games. One week later, Red Bull decided to cut the partnership with Vips, who leads Hitech in the Formula 2 championship.

“As a result of an investigation regarding an incident involving Yuri Phipps, we have terminated his contract as a test driver and reserve driver. We do not tolerate racism,” Red Bull wrote.

The VIPs are number seven in the Formula 2 summary, four points behind Hauger. The two also fought to move up the Red Bull system and try out the hand in Formula 1. Now Hauger is losing out on a rival.

This news comes just days before the World Cup tour at Silverstone in England
